The awards of the 2022 Hungarian Innovation Grand Prix were presented in the Parliament Building in Budapest on 23 March 2023. The Grand Prix for outstanding technical and economic innovation with significant business benefits was awarded to Mediso Kft. for the development of the Ultra-High Field PET-MRI medical product family. Mediso Kft is a consortium partner of BioTalentum in the EU funded project iNanoBIT (project ID: No. 760986).

The 3rd General Assembly of the Hungarian Association for Innovation in 1991 decided to establish the Hungarian Innovation Grand Prix. The Grand Prix is awarded once a year to companies registered in Hungary that have managed to achieve significant business benefits through outstanding technical and economic innovation performance in the year preceding the award.

Out of a total of 1379 applications submitted upon the thirty competition calls announced so far, 1204 were successfully implemented and of these 233 received various innovation awards. In 2022, the jury received 37 applications from which 35 were eligible, the Hungarian Association for Innovation announced.

A presented by János Csák, Minister for Culture and Innovation and chairman of the jury, 33% of companies in Hungary are innovative, compared to 53% in the European Union. 11% of Hungarian innovative businesses cooperate with universities.
