On 27 May, BioTalentum organized an online workshop to present state-of-the-art results in the area of hiPSC-CM maturation. One of the goals of the event was to highlight the achievements of the EMAPS-CARDIO project, with particular attention on the social benefits of the heart-on-chip technology. The event attracted over 70 participants, mainly international researchers in different career stages. BioTalentum contributed with three talks: Prof. Dr. Andras Dinnyes spoke about the regulatory challenges of human pluripotent stem-cell based cardiac drug development, toxicology and therapies; Federica Lamberto explored fit-for-purpose methodologies for environmental cardio-toxicity testing; and Dr. Kornel Kistamas presented on the long and winding road to cardiac maturation.

The workshop also hosted a focus group discussion, which meant to identify social issues and promote sustainable development.
